2026 Cadillac OPTIQ: Cargo, Range, and Trim Availability for the Lineup's Volume Leader

The 2026 Cadillac OPTIQ is a two-row, five-passenger compact luxury electric crossover powered by an 85 kWh battery. It is available in nine configurations across five trim families: Luxury, Sport, Premium Luxury, Premium Sport, and V-Series. Every configuration includes a fixed full glass roof, standard Super Cruise, and a native NACS charging port. For a buyer at the decision stage, the key numbers are cargo volume, NRCan range by drivetrain, and which features change across the trim ladder. Those are the three areas this guide addresses directly.

The OPTIQ is Cadillac's entry into the compact luxury EV segment. It sits on a purpose-built electric architecture and carries Cadillac's full technology suite at every trim level, including the 33-inch diagonal LED display and standard hands-free driving capability via Super Cruise. Understanding the differences between nine configurations across five families requires a clear reference, and that is what this article provides.

Range by Configuration: NRCan-Confirmed Figures

Every OPTIQ runs on the same 85 kWh battery. Range differences between configurations come from drivetrain (single-motor RWD vs. dual-motor AWD), tyre size, and suspension calibration in the case of the V-Series.

Configuration

NRCan Range

OPTIQ RWD (Luxury, Sport, Premium Luxury, Premium Sport)

510 km

OPTIQ AWD (Luxury, Sport, Premium Luxury, Premium Sport)

488 km

OPTIQ-V (V-Series AWD)

447 km

The 510 km figure for the RWD variant is the highest in the OPTIQ lineup and positions the base-drivetrain configuration ahead of many competing compact luxury EVs on range. At 488 km, the AWD variant gives up 22 km compared to RWD in exchange for the dual-motor's 440 hp and all-season traction. The V-Series, at 447 km, reflects the performance suspension and 21-inch wheel combination that is standard on that trim.

All configurations support DC fast charging and use a native NACS port for access to over 21,500 DC fast chargers in North America. DC fast charging adds up to 113 km of range per hour at a compatible station.

Cargo Dimensions: Confirmed Figures

The OPTIQ's cargo volume is consistent across all non-V and V-Series trims:

  • Cargo volume with second row up: 744 L
  • Cargo volume with second row folded: 1,603 L
  • Front passenger volume: 1,538 L
  • Second-row passenger volume: 1,336 L
  • Overall length (Luxury/Sport/Premium Luxury/Premium Sport): 4,821 mm
  • Overall length (V-Series): 4,826 mm
  • Wheelbase: 2,946 mm
  • Width (without mirrors): 1,913 mm
  • Minimum ground clearance: 152 mm

Trailering capacity on non-V trims is 1,500 lbs (680 kg) with the available hitch and trim bezel. The V-Series does not support towing.

Powertrain Specifications by Trim Family

The OPTIQ's powertrain options map directly to drivetrain choice. The V-Series is AWD-only with a distinct high-output motor configuration.

Trim-by-Trim Feature Breakdown

Luxury (RWD or AWD) The entry trim in the OPTIQ lineup. Standard features include the 33-inch diagonal LED display, Super Cruise, fixed full glass roof, Cadillac User Experience with personalisation, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, HD Surround Vision, Wireless Phone Charging, 8-way power driver seat, and 11.5 kW onboard charger. AWD adds the 440 hp dual-motor drivetrain at an additional step-up.

Sport (RWD or AWD) Shares the same price point and powertrain options as Luxury. The Sport carries a more performance-oriented exterior presentation. Standard features mirror Luxury; the key distinction is the exterior design language, which includes a sport-themed front fascia and trim treatments.

Premium Luxury (RWD or AWD) Steps up from Luxury with the 19.2 kW onboard charger as standard equipment. This is the most relevant upgrade for buyers with a higher-output home charging station: at 19.2 kW, the OPTIQ adds approximately 50 km of range per hour on a compatible 240V outlet, versus the 11.5 kW rate of the entry trims. Also adds Cadillac User Experience with navigation and personalisation, upgraded interior surface materials, and enhanced exterior appointments.

Premium Sport (RWD or AWD) Mirrors the Premium Luxury's 19.2 kW charger and technology upgrades in a sport-exterior presentation. The Premium Sport buyer prioritises athletic styling with the practical benefit of the faster onboard charging rate.

V-Series AWD The top configuration. Standard equipment includes the 519 hp / 650 lb-ft Performance Dual Motor AWD, Brembo front performance brake calipers, Continuous Damping Control (CDC) sport suspension, 21-inch satin graphite alloy wheels with 275/40R21 tyres, and V-MODE with Competitive Mode. Launch Control enables the 3.5-second 0-96 km/h capability. NRCan range is 447 km; towing is not available. The 11.5 kW onboard charger is standard, with the 19.2 kW charger available as an upgrade.
